Default What\'s wrong with the forums today?

Today was the slowest twoplustwo surfing experience I've had over the last almost two years. It takes several seconds now to load threads that were instantaneous as recently as yesterday. There have also been at least 7 brief server downtimes today causing me to get the "This page has taken too long to load" message. There was the usual ~4:15am downtime and then another a couple hours later. Then periodically throughout the day there were some that lasted anywhere between a couple of seconds and a minute.

Is there a reason for this? I asked another poster via AIM if he was experiencing the same thing and he was so I don't think that this issue could be related to my internet connection.

I don't want to become overly technical and get everyone confused with jargon, but usually problems like this occur because something goes wrong with the internets.

Often, yes, but not when only one site connection is affected (i.e. 2+2). There is definitely something wrong either on the server(s) or routing at the hosting facility or even the upstream connection from the hosting company. At no time during any of the high number of slowdowns/outages yesterday (and the fewer instances today) were any other sites I was connected to affected. Not any of the other 20+ browser tabs, multiple email accts, multiple IM accts, VPN's, Remote Desktop connections....nothing. There is a unique connection problem with this site that is unrelated to the internets.

I kept checking this thread to see if any site admins posted they were aware of the problem or attempting to fix.
