[ QUOTE ]
I've solved it, but I find it unlikely that only 2 % of the population is able to solve it. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know, I solved it, but I can see over 90% of people getting frustrated/bored and quitting. |

Re: Riddles/Brainteasers
My first OOT experience ever was a brainteaser that someone posted that I tried and it turned out to be insane. It was over 2 years ago so I donīt remember the details of how I worked out the solution, but I remember I got pissed that I couldnīt do it easily and got so determined to solve it I worked on it for like 12 hours over 2 days or something absurd like that. And I remember some other poster trying to pretend like he was solving it but really just cheating and looking it up online. Oh the nostalgia...
Problem: Three gods A , B , and C are called, in some order, True, False, and Random. True always speaks truly, False always speaks falsely, but whether Random speaks truly or falsely is a completely random matter. Your task is to determine the identities of A , B , and C by asking three yes-no questions; each question must be put to exactly one god. The gods understand English, but will answer in their own language, in which the words for yes and no are da and ja, in some order. You do not know which word means which. |

Re: Riddles/Brainteasers
3) Portrait.
4) Sentence #5. The Einstein problem isn't tough it just tedious. I have done questions like that before it just requires brainless tedious work. Heres a fun one. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...Number=5351571 Also GoT you just prevented me from doing anything productive untill I solve that. |

Einsteins riddle "ALBERT EINSTEIN WROTE THIS RIDDLE EARLY DURING THE 19th CENTURY. HE SAID THAT 98% OF THE WORLD POPULATION WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SOLVE IT." Sorry about the caps, I quoted it from the page. I've solved it, but I find it unlikely that only 2 % of the population is able to solve it. [/ QUOTE ] I just spent about half an hour solving this riddle. I wonder if 50% of OOT can solve it? |

Sorry about the caps, I quoted it from the page. I've solved it, but I find it unlikely that only 2 % of the population is able to solve it. [/ QUOTE ] Heh. Iīd like to see the original of this along with Einsteinīs statement that only 2% could solve it (my first reaction when I read it was "no way Einstein wrote that"). Also, that particular wording of the puzzle was done by someone not familiar with puzzle or logic in general. The terms "next to", "to the left of", etc have very little meaning without knowing how the houses are arranged and what our orientation is, but not as bad as "centre house" which has absolutely no meaning whatsoever. As written, itīs unsolvable. Maybe Iīm just a nit when it comes to logic problems being logical. |
