lots of sports-betting or casino sites I think give some kind of hassle for cash-outs if you deposit via credit-card.

I made the mistake of depositing a couple-hundred in WPEX via my CC when my neteller was a little bit low.
Little did I know that to bring it back out I had to send them drivers-license and utility-bill type verification and so forth. Kind of a pain for just $200 deposit after several larger deposits and cash-outs via neteller.

But that one little deposit kept my money locked-up for a little while.

Annoying, yes.
But it is in their T&C's somewhere and I don't think it's too big a deal.

Because I had made so many transactions via neteller and was a decent customer I was able to get them to get around the requirement that I cash-out that specific amount via cheque or some other way.

You are probably going to be stuck however.

I highly recommend NEVER going the CC route at WPEX because of this cheque cash-out restriction thing that they do to most customers. Just stick with neteller (which shouldn't be a problem for most players around here of course)

I am laughing my ass off. Now they want me to identify myself with copies of my passport etc. Obviously I didn't have to do that when I signed up with them and got my money over.

While you recommend to NEVER go the CC route at WPEX, I recommend NEVER to go to WPEX at all.

Lots of sites make you do this for CC deposits.
They take your money and THEN they require various ID stuff to cash-out.
I see the hypocricy in this as well.

But if I stopped playing on every site where there was a decent chance of this happening then I would probably only be able to play at Stars (where I haven't heard of such ID requirements).

I'm pretty sure that Party has done this to some of their customers (almost randomly it seems sometimes).

Yes, it's a pain.
Just don't do CC stuff on WSEX and you'll be fine.

Neteller rules!!

The annoyance factor I had with WSEX from having to do this was minimal compared with the benefits of playing on a site that is 100-freaking-percent-rake-back (plus the extra money in the Wednesday-Aces promo).

For almost $10k in rakeback that I have received from there, spending a few minutes to send them a photo of my DL and utility-bill isn't the end of the world. And they were extremely professional and courteous in explaining to me that this requirement for CC transactions IS mentioned on their website.
so I take the blame for not bothering to read it the first time.

They are at fault for having kind of a dumb policy (that does have SOME logic to it) and I am at least equally at fault for not seeing that this policy was there BEFORE I used my CC and created this minor hassle for myself.

Well, I doubt I could make 10k rakeback before I go broke there. I started with $100 and they have shown me the absolute nuts on every occasion. After not winning a single hand for over an hour regardless of what I had (top pair, two pair, trips, straight) it was enough for me. It felt like I was the only guy at the table playing Hold'em while everyone else was playing Omaha. Usually I am not supersticious, but that was a VERY BAD sign...

$100? OMG RIGGED...not. And what could this possibly be a "very bad sign" for? What? A very bad sign that WSEX has conspired to make you lose your money to other players while you pay no rake? OMG SO [censored] RIGGED

You better recognize that WSEX is the nuts, and if you don't see why then all you have to do is open your eyes. I will not tolerate any further badmouthing of their good name for any reason whatsoever. Except maybe their hand histories.

DIG THAT
