I have been ripped off by an employee of the rental office I lived at after giving account information, there is no way in hell I would even give someone the right to obtain my credit report themselves with all the information that is on there. Either get it yourself and mark out all private information or if you must have a report pulled, retain a lawyer, show him or her a credit report and he can forward a notarized letter informing your prospective landlord of your current financial situation for an hour's time.
