Sleep Temperature
So I have a Honeywell thermostat, I can't find an exact jpg of it but it's one of those where you can set wake-leave-return-sleep cycles M-F and Saturday and Sunday. Pretty slick.
Over the past few years I've become tolerant of warmer temperatures. My last ex kept her place at 78 degrees, plus her bedroom was on the second floor, heat rises etc. and it was tough to sleep. Time was, I couldn't sleep above 76 degrees, but that may have changed me. Forever, I've had my sleep temp at 76, but a couple of months ago upped it to 77, and in the last week bumped it to 78. No noticeable loss of sleep. |

Re: Sleep Temperature
My wife HAS to have it at 72, then she buries herself under a thick blanket. Makes me crazy as I would be fine with 76 and drives my electric bill through the roof. I need to set up a dual zone so we don't have to keep the rest of the house so cold.

Re: Sleep Temperature
I want to be able to hang meat in my bedroom. I sleep much better in a cool room with some blankets than a warm room sans blankets. Much easier to warm up than to cool off.

Re: Sleep Temperature
These options are all way too high. I would say somewhere around 67 is ideal.

Re: Sleep Temperature
I'm sweating just thinking about trying to sleep in 76-78* temps!
A/C is on 67* at night and I could still go lower. |

Re: Sleep Temperature
WOW did I apparently eff this one up.
Here in Phoenix every degree below 80 costs a lot of money. That said, I'm amazed by how cold some people have their place. I remember about 15 years ago when I shared an apartment with somebody. We had central cooling, so free A/C. We had an agreement that in the summer we would leave the air on ALL the time to get the best bang for the buck. It would be colder than sh*t in our place most of the time but we just looked at it as getting the most bang for the buck... |

Re: Sleep Temperature
there should of been 2 polls, one for what you actualy sleep at, and another for what you'd like to sleep at.
ours is currently set at about 77, but this is mainly because I have one roomate who's a tightass and he has the peter griffon "who touched the thermostat" sixth sense. I'd like it be be set at about 73 in the summer, but I sleep best in the winter when it's about 65. |
