Re: Ok, who\'s your NBA MVP?
Anyway, getting back on topic, heres my list for MVP this year:
1. Dirk 2. Kobe 3. Nash 4. Lebron 5. Dixon(would be higher if he stayed with one team probably) 6. Bosh 7. Duncan 8. McGrady(would be higher if he stayed healthy probably) 9. Arenas 10. Melo(would be higher if he didn't fight probably) 11. J Howard 12. Garnett 13. D Williams 14. Amare 15. Boozer |

Re: Ok, who\'s your NBA MVP?
Pudge,
Dixon has been a running joke in the NBA thread. Assani, [ QUOTE ] Pauls shooting would definitely hurt the Suns. He shoots 9.2% less from the field, 11% less from 3pt, and 6% less from the foul line. Other than that, I agree that he'd be comparable. But I think the lack of a 3pt shot would hurt a lot. Part of what makes the Suns so effective is that the opposing power forward or center absolutely has to hedge hard if not outright switch on the pick and roll because Nash is an absolute assassian from the 3pt line. Getting a PF or C to hedge so hard that far away from the basket leaves the defense completely vulnerable. It forces the weak side defender to crash down and help on the Suns PF or C, which then leaves Bell/Marion open for a 3. [/ QUOTE ] great points. While I'm often lumped in the Nash hater crowd, I think the real haters really underestimate the effect Nash's shooting has on the game. |

countdown to the Steve Nash debate.... [/ QUOTE ] knew it when the thread started. Honestly theres no point in it. I could probably rerash the anti-Nash argument word for word by now, and I'm sure the other side could do the same. |

I could probably rerash the anti-Nash argument word for word by now, and I'm sure the other side could do the same. [/ QUOTE ] You realize that you pretty much baited it, right? [/ QUOTE ] How so? I even said that I picked Dirk. Shadowrun was the one who came in here backing Nash, JoA then replied and implied that Nash didn't deserve to win the first two(this is what really started it imo), someone chimed in saying that Nash wasn't even the MVP of his own team, and I stayed out of it the entire time. Just in the past 10 posts have I begun to get into the Nash debate, and I wasn't even trying to! I was trying to make the point that Dirk doesn't get a lot of hate. In trying to make that point, I mentioned something about all 3 players(that they were top 30 of all time) and someone, of course, ignored the other two players but questioned my putting Nash in the top 30. Then finally after all that, I entered the Nash debate. How do you possibly view all that and think that I am the one who baited it??? |

Re: Ok, who\'s your NBA MVP?
Assani,
With my reply to Shadowrun I was pointing out a glaring logical fallacy. That is all. Anyway, if we just do the last 25 years I might be able to come up with 30 better than Nash. Jordan Shaq Robinson Magic Bird Hakeem Duncan Barkley Malone Stockton Ewing Kidd Isiah 'Nique Worthy Pippen Reggie Drexler Garnett McHale Parish Rodman Kobe Payton Kemp Dikembe Alonzo Oakley Dirk I'm sure you could quibble with a few, but the first say 20 or so look solid, and that's just the last 27 years. |
