I was in college at the time and dominated my dorm, and even travelled to the other dorms once word got out I couldnt be touched and killed them too.

I remember 1 loss and it was like 17 - 15 or something like that, and it was a fluke as I blew him out every other one.

It was more so my defensive skill not my offensive abilities that made me better.

I def need some practice now in order to even stand a chance as I have not touched it since 1995.

Side note: I didnt even own the game FWIW.

Contra on the Amstrad an 8bit computer only ever a minor hit in the UK and Germany. I used to be able to clock that game, Any one still use the word clock? Any one in America ever use it? It means win on one credit with out loosing a life. Also Contra was so much better on the Amstrad then the Spectrum or commodore.

I don't know about the versions, but there's a video of a guy beating it without losing once on the NES version.

In our circle this was known simply as "the move" and was considered the mark of a truly cheesy and unskilled player. It was banned on my Sega, and punishable by exile if ever used.
