also, no matter how good you feel at .08, you are still just as impaired as a normal person at .08, you are just used to it. |

tuq, [ QUOTE ] Wow that is some really terrible grunching right there. [/ QUOTE ] wtf? [/ QUOTE ] Nobody that I can recall defended the OP and the conversation moved well past that into a related matter. This thread isn't 150 replies of people debating whether the punishment was sufficient. EDIT: just realized I may have misused "grunch". |

Re: So I\'m going to Prison for 2 years
I'm always amazed when reading through a DUI thread.
Also, as a general thought wrt to level X (be it 0.08 or whatever) being too low: if a government is charged w/ a task of setting an arbitrary number, where the consequences of setting it too low are not allowing people to drink the maximum amount of alcohol they can and still be completely OK to drive / charging someone with an offense for it, and the consequence of setting it too high it possibly allowing people to legally drive in a state that puts others in danger, Im going to err on the side of too low a number. |

Re: So I\'m going to Prison for 2 years
err on the side of too low even when the consequence is taking the "offender" away from their family and caging them for years? That isn't really consistent with the principals of our justice system, or any just system.

I'm off to go drink for 5+ hours and then inevitably drive somewhere to get food.
