Default Live o/8 players are NITS but I never knew how bad it could get.

Argosy Casino Lawrenceburg IN near Cincy.

They call the 5-10 O/8 game and I go mark my seat. The game hadn't started so I wanted to finish the orbit of Nl. It seems like there were seven players at the table, three didn't want to play short handed so they return to their previous games. I finish my orbit, approximately 3 hands and when I get to the o/8 game, there are three guys sitting there. They don't want to play shorthanded so they haven't started the game. The floor says, there is another player coming and we can play for $1 rake until the game fills. The fifth person doesn't magically appear so we wait some more. The floor comes back and says, we can play for free if start the game and he won't start the rake until there are six players and then it will be $1 untill we get more players.

They wouldn't play four handed for free. It was the damnedest thing I ever saw. One guy wanted to play $3-6 limit until the table filled up which would have been fine but the other two wouldn't agree, they kept asking questions and switching the subject and we didn't start until there were six players actually in their seats.

If you are willing to call two big bets cold to catch a gutshot for half the pot when the board is flushed, why in the hell would you be afraid to play shaorthanded for no rake?
