Suckout??????
HI all,
This may seem stupid but i have to ask - what is a suckout? This word is not normal parlance in Northern Ireland and i wonder what the exact meaning is. Thanks |

Re: Suckout??????
To "suck out" is the same as to draw out, i.e. catch an out when you are behind in the hand, thus turning a losing hand into a winner. If you're a good player, your opponents will suck out on you more frequently than you will on them.
Edit: I wonder if this use is related to "sucker"? As in someone who will cluelessly try to suck out even when the odds are against him. |

Re: Suckout??????
When you have an overwhelming advantage, get your money in the pot, and then on the River your opponent catches the one card in the deck that will give him the win, he is said to have "sucked you out."

Re: Suckout??????
Someone who is totally dominated in a hand and somehow they manage to get that miracle card even though they were a sucker for having their money in the pot to begin with.
