Um...SSH and an SAT practice book? I dunno. I'm young and don't read much.

1. The Way Things Ought to Be, by Rush Limbaugh. At the time, I had never spent any time thinking about things political. I thought 90% of what he said made good sense. No one from "the other side" has persuaded me that he's wrong.

2. HPFAP, DS+MM. Had a huge impact on my life.

Rich dad poor dad was one for me.

The other, Hobbes Leviathan - this book really made me think about reason and human evolution. My religious views changed because of this book. I think everyone should read this masterpiece cover to cover.

Ishmael - Made me think about big picture things a lot differently.
The Fountainhead - Same thing but in obviously different ways.

Dune and 1984 - these two gave me a pretty good understanding of power/control and its use/effect at personal and societal levels.

<u>A People's History of the United States</u> by Howard Zinn.

And just to be a pain I'm going to put <u>Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot</u> by Al Franken, because it's a cool title, it's a good book (but not life-changing), and he really is one, and someone else put his book up.

1) How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie
It really worked! I now have friends!

2) ASP.NET Data Web Controls Kick Start - Scott Mitchell
Catapulted me way ahead of my coworkers when we moved to ASP.NET. Raises, promotions, and abundant praise followed.

1) Friendly Persuasion - My Life as a Negotiator, Bob Woolf

This book taught me how much negotiating we do every day of our lives. From big things like job contracts to little things like persuading someone to see the movie you want to see. Plus there were plenty of fun stories from Bob's career including how he became Larry Bird's agent and subsequently, how he dealt with Red Auerbach.

2) Getting the Love You Want, Harville Hendrix

I can't say enough about this book. I had trouble sleeping for months after reading this book the first time. It is a psychology book designed for couples, but it is that and so much more. This book will get you in touch with your childhood and how your childhood influences you as an adult. The most important thing it has taught me is the origin of my strongest feelings. Through understanding I am able to cope with situations far better, mostly by not just 'reacting' to my feelings all the time.
