The first hand I did not do so well. The second, I don't see any real issue. Sure I sucked out the turn only to be resucked out, but 4 handed, you easily could have overs with a gutshot, i.e. things I am ahead of. What do you think I should have done in #2?

Since gutshot+overs are 40% against you that's no reason to raise the flop, especially if villain knows you'd do this and might start 3 betting those hands.

You're a dog to his whole range on the flop, though.
