Why do most 2p2ers play shorthanded rather than full ring?

you can get involved in more pots and thereby increase your EV by getting to make more aggressive decisions that are correct. Personally I play live primarily, so I tend to be in FR since I know the mechanics better.

Also at higher limits online, there is no FR.

And yeah, 6max has become more popular, and is the game of choice for impatient gamblers. Hence more people playing it, including a higher proportion of 'expert' players.

Yeah, I actually just come to the conclusion that I just really enjoy playing 6 handed, cash games at least. Seems that there are a lot of people that will go on any 2 cards.. I play a little bit tight (pre-flop), but not as tight as a full ring, play from the blinds with a wide range of cards.. just overall more fun, at least for me.

Also I tend to play a bit more aggressive shorthanded (post-flop)

You know all those guys typing "ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" into the chat window? Yeah, they are impatient gambling types. They want to play more quickly, so they sit down in games where that happens, hence six-max. And seriously, it is to your advantage to sit down with those types since they seem to prefer spewing money as well. At least this is the theory.

It is much more interesting. You get to play more hands, you get more hands an hour, you get to play more creatively, you get better reads on the people at your table because you are involved with more hand with them. If you are new to poker, you can lose all you money a lot quicker at 6-max.

There is no way to run over a table or continuously isolate a fish at FR.

Expected win rates are more than double for 6max.

You want to raise T9s utg 9-handed? Good luck.

You can do whatever you want 6-handed.

6-max will teach you to read hands and to be aggressive in small/medium-sized pots.

As you move up in stakes, the tables get shorter and shorter.

If you don't hit a draw/set or w/e in full-ring you are prob just folding and looking at your other 99 tables.
