PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

SB (t18306)
BB (t20632)
Hero (t8755)
MP (t19993)
CO (t79178)
Button (t10807)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8, 8.
[color=#CC3333]Hero raises to t1200</font>, MP calls t1200, [color=#666666]4 folds</font>.

Flop: (t2525) 2, Q, Q [color=#0000FF](2 players)</font>
Hero checks, [color=#CC3333]MP bets t2000</font>, Hero ??

After he bet I realized the check as my downfall but lets discuss anyways, What would you bet and Also how would you proceed as played? Also if you bet X amount and he shoves, is there a fold anywhere?

Shove, there's a lot of hands that you have beat here and you do get called by worse hands a fair bit (flush draws, pairs)

Please add to/correct my logic

As played it's either shove/fold.
Without any info on both of your table images, I'm shoving.
This looks like a big stack stabbing at a scary board..
If he flopped a monster or hits a FD/over, that's unfortunate.

If he believes the CRAI,
to call here he's holding 33-88/FD/Qx,
as 99+/AK is likely reraising PF,
and 22/QQ likely checkbehind.

Why did you check the flop?

Unless you are planning to CRAI to a standard move,
You have to bet while your hand is likely ahead.
IMHO, I'd take advantage of the scary flop before he can.

Keep in mind your stacks + odds you are giving with a c-bet vs. CRAI

What does the MP big stack calling PF indicate to you?

just shove.. i originally thought about flat/calling and open-shoving non-diamond turns but i don't like that so just shove now.

Absolutely should be shoving this flop. Hopefully he calls with 22-77. If he flopped QQQ, oh well. You just can't let him take control on this flop.

And someone said this a scary board? I think this a great flop for 88.

Oh I just meant that it is an intimidating flop,
for the OP it's near ideal imho.
