Before you pick up Taming Your Gremlin, you should get Taming your Mogwai. You'll learn how to prevent your little Mogwai from ever becoming a mischievous Gremlin. Remember, no food after midnight. And, please don't let your Mogwai near water.

Largay's NL cash book, and Snyder's tournament book.

If you play NLHE cash games, you need to read Doyle's chapter in Super System.

And make sure your TAG game is solid. You don't know how much money people have lost by starting with this book (I know by experience). Raise, re-raise all-in. Hands flip over, SS n00b shows 9-10 s and you show AA. His justification "I knew what you had, so I thought I'd try and break you." If you can't handle a flop, don't even open SS.

Oh, and Joe Navarro's book. Some might disagree with this, but Caro's book sucks compared to this. And it helps with the ladies, too. No, seriously.

I don't think Brunson suggested going allin preflop with T9s.

That's why you don't see Brunson beating the SNGs.

"Shut up and Deal" by Jesse May will round out things nicely for you.

I would tend to agree with you. But the problem is, I've hardly noticed any tells from either book in live play. However I have noticed a couple from Navarro's book, and just reading it you'll have to believe it's the far better book, assuming people really do those things. Looking at feet first - who knew! Well, I guessed. Navarro asked what was the most reliable part of the body for getting feedback. I thought for a minute and guessed feet, but I can't tell you why that came to me. But who can see feet at the poker table? Turns out the other night I was watching a guy and he started sort of vibrating. I got up to "go to the bathroom" and sure enough, I saw his foot was jumping up and down under the table. So you don't have to actually see the foot to know.
