Default SSNL [cheese] thread: MARCH 2007

Please don't clutter the forum by starting crappy threads. Feel free to fill this thread with all the stuff that you want to share with the SSNL community.

For example, stuff like this:

--UB is a ROCK GARDEN!!!1!!
--graphs/stats
--busto/robusto/rostucko
--girls/women/ladies
--bad beats, silly hands
--does anyone still play at Party?
--here's my stats over 300 hands, move up?
--TV/Movies/Japan
--best players at NL200 Full Tilt?
--non-strat questions that aren't worthy of their own thread
--shaving/hair care/personal hygiene
--junk
--crap
--misc.

Also, NO FLAMING PLEASE. And please don't circumvent the profanity filters by creative means. And don't break the cheese thread by posting oversized images!

Enjoy!

This happened a long time ago:

I was a member of a forum, non-poker related. And there was this lady on the forum who was a regular. By her posts it was clear that she was an older lady. And that she was also very sweet.

But, the thing that always bugged me about her was that her posts were always about 3-4 sentences long. And they were filled with spelling and grammar mistakes and were basically a mess to read. So, one day I called her on it and told her to post better and get spellchecker and maybe sometimes elaborate a bit more than her normal 3-4 sentences.

Well...

It turns out that this lady was about 55 years old. She was in pretty bad shape healthwise. She was bedridden. She had had both arms amputated. And she was mute (couldn't speak). And among other diseases, she had cancer.

And her children had gotten her the internet and she loved it. Because she could "talk" to other people like she used to before she lost her voice. And she felt less a burden to other people to keep her time continuously occupied, because she could just go talk on the forums.

It turns out she typed with a pointer in her mouth hitting the keys. And each post she made took 20 minutes or so to get a semi-readable 4 sentences. Well, I sure was a chastised idiot.

Anyway, maybe you'll remember that when you feel like sniping at someone in SSNL and maybe decide to take the high road and cut a poster some slack now and then.
