Re: Biggest consumable flop
The Wikipedia article on New Coke was interesting.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Coke Things I learned today: * Classic Coke was only off the market for 3 months * New coke actually sold fairly well. If the article is accurate, the backlash against New Coke was way out of proportion to the sales of New Coke. * The re-introduction of Coke Classic was such big news that prime time programming on ABC was interrupted with a Breaking News bulletin. * New Coke was reintroduced in 1992 as Coke II. But was phased out by 2002. |

All, While New Coke is the obvious winner here, I think the McDLT deserves a mention. [/ QUOTE ] I liked the MCDLT, I mean compared to other mcdonalds a slice of (semi)fresh tomato goes a long way. |

Re: Biggest consumable flop
a few years back Jack in the Box tried a couple of concept restaurants called JBX. basically they just classed up a Jack in the Box with a similar menu, but fancier ingredients. like if you ordered a burger you'd get a full kaiser roll and nice thick beef patty. the decour of the places was pretty nice too - one had a fireplace. I really enjoyed my experience the one time I went. anyway, they're gone now.
