Default Blackjack kills me

I'm pretty good at poker. Started with next to nothing, worked my way up to 1K and got stuck on blackjack for a night and lost it all using the ol' martingale strategy. Not because I think it will work, but because I hate losing. Now I know blackjack is a game of chance much more than poker, but for some reason I think if I play every hand perfectly I should come out ahead even though I know thats wrong. I [censored] up 2 months worth of grinding in an hours worth of blackjack

I got my rakeback for that month and begin to slowly but surely rebuild my bankroll and again I get it up to nearly $1K. I get tempted into playing blackjack again and I actually start winning. I get up $150 before I totally [censored] up everything I worked for 2 months for by doubling my bet to break even each time I lose and blowing it all on a bad streak.

I know I should have never played blackjack, especially online where for all I know the software changes the cards according to my betting pattern. I feel miserable that I didn't learn my lesson the first time and now I have no money again til I get my rakeback.

I'm such an idiot and now I'll probably be grinding again at $10 sit n' goes for 2 more months to get my bankroll up to 1k. I now hate blackjack and vow never to EVER play that son'bitch again.

I just want to shoot myself now for being so stupid and trusting an online casino when it's me vs the house and blowing my poker bankroll TWICE when I know I have the skills to move up just not the money.

I lost $600 one night at Party BJ and after I vomited and wanted to die ( at the time it was alot to me[not that's totally insifnicant to me now])
The fact is that everyone experience the horror that is BJ. I vowed never to play since then and I haven't. I definitely think it's avoidable.
As a side note, I am terrible at BJ and don't understand basic strategy or whatever. For thisreason I wish they had like a coin that u could flip on online sites that gave u like 49% equity. I would much rather take that bet when I am on tilt thatn BJ because without knowin skill i'm guessing my equity is like 40% or so.

There are exactly two reasons for playing BJ:

1) You're REALLY good at counting, and you've found a game that's close enough that counting tips the odds in your favor

2) For fun

I choose #2 occasionally, but I know it's a long-term net loss, so I just keep reminding myself: it's strictly for fun.

I've tried counting before, but it seems to eliminate all the fun, and it's probably easier to make money at poker anyway.

FYP

Number 1 & 3 are the only good reasons to play BJ. And number 3 is a lot less work. But if done correctly has none of the benefits of #2 until you are counting your profits.

If u r really good at poker as u say, then u got a lot to lose.
A talent in poker can get u a long way these days; it can even make u a millionaire.

It looks like u've got a serious gambling problem.
Stu Ungar 3 times world-champion, arguably the best player in the world, died a poor man, all alone in some hotel-room.
He gambled his poker winnings away, and he ruined his health with his drug habits.
To me he is the ultimate example of waist of talent.
He was a far better player then I'll ever be, yet I feel that my accomplishment of turning around my lifetime losing gambling addiction into a winning poker-addiction has gotten me further than his three world titles.

Ur problem won't go away by itself; with determination and very hard work, u might be able to overcome it.
Gambling addiction is just as dangerous as a hard-drug addiction, it can very easily ruin ur live completely.

In the nineteenth century, the Monte Carlo casino had a famous balcony looking over the back garden. There u could jump of and kill ur self when u had lost all ur money. It was frequently used.

Take away that gun against ur head and realize that u are at the very beginning of an gambling addiction that will destroy ur live.
If u don't act upon it , it will grow like a cancer inside u.
Contact Gamblers Anonymous, or family or friends, because u will need all the help u can get.

Take it from one who has been there, it won't go away by itself!

Online, I can only see #3. Maybe #2.

I don't see an online site making a beatable game available. It's just too vulnerable.

Live is a whole nother story.

Well, I'll go along with the casino whoring, but #2 is still a good way to buy some entertainment. Just find a small-bet table with a bunch of people who're just in the mood to donk up a storm, and it can be a total hoot. Even with the house edge, the margin's still small enough that over the long haul, it isn't costing you much.

Why do people always do that on this forum? Belittling the amounts of money involved when they are obviously quite meaningful to the person involved?

It's nothing more than veiled bragging and not helpful at all.
