Super Soaker FTW

Won't hurt the cats but they'll hate it.

Im thinking more that a paintball gun at closish range could break a rib, or something. Ever been shot in the finger by a paintball gun, its a lot different.

I've been hit square in the forehead by a paintball and it didn't break skin, only stung like hell and keep in mind that cats have fur to lessen the impact some. I know BB guns can break skin so I think the danger of paintball on cat violence is being overestimated here.

a paintball can break human skin. it will also put out an eye no problem.

Why dont you people keep your pets inside, the world isnt your litter box?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because thatīs not fun for the animals.

Water gun should suffice. Make sure the water is COLD, though.

thats not fun for the animals? is that really the excuse? I mean most dog owners usually have at least a modicum of respect for others, cat owners rarely do.

Probably no chance of getting the owners to do anything. Plant some catnip in a part of your yard (or in your neighbor's right on the edge) where it's "okay" for them to crap. You'll make the cats happy, and they won't be crapping in your garden. And when they occasionally head back over to unwelcome areas, super soaker em. Definitely no other kind of gun.

I agree a water-gun would be much better.

And you can actually have fun with it knowing there is no real harm instead of having even the slightest bit of guilt/concern that you might hurt the cat.

Cats are small and squishy, mainly vital organs exposed in the soft belly area. Cats and dogs have died from internal bleeding after physical abuse, like say being kicked...They have tiny heads and big eyes.
The chances of something pretty nasty happening if you were to go that route, are pretty good.

No need to get upset and defensive, I assumed I was just stating the obvious.

Well said guids.

I love cats. If some local 10 year old jerk kid shot one of my kitties, I would hunt him down and have him arrested or I'd just beat him into the ground myself.

On the other hand, if somebody else's pets are destroying your property, you shouldn't have to put up with that. Use a hose or start complaining to the cats' owners

lol, what is this based on? Most cats just crap in litterboxes in the house; there are tons of dog owners who just let their animals leave steaming piles all over sidewalks and yards.
