Probably no chance of getting the owners to do anything. Plant some catnip in a part of your yard (or in your neighbor's right on the edge) where it's "okay" for them to crap. You'll make the cats happy, and they won't be crapping in your garden. And when they occasionally head back over to unwelcome areas, super soaker em. Definitely no other kind of gun.

I agree a water-gun would be much better.
And you can actually have fun with it knowing there is no real harm instead of having even the slightest bit of guilt/concern that you might hurt the cat.

[/ QUOTE ] Cats are small and squishy, mainly vital organs exposed in the soft belly area. Cats and dogs have died from internal bleeding after physical abuse, like say being kicked...They have tiny heads and big eyes. The chances of something pretty nasty happening if you were to go that route, are pretty good. No need to get upset and defensive, I assumed I was just stating the obvious. Well said guids.

I love cats. If some local 10 year old jerk kid shot one of my kitties, I would hunt him down and have him arrested or I'd just beat him into the ground myself.
On the other hand, if somebody else's pets are destroying your property, you shouldn't have to put up with that. Use a hose or start complaining to the cats' owners

Most cats just crap in litterboxes in the house; there are tons of dog owners who just let their animals leave steaming piles all over sidewalks and yards.
