Flop: ($9) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font> SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero?</font> <font color="blue">I'm totally lost in situations like these. Villain has just a wee more than a PSB left. I can't bet without committing myself to the pot. I figure the only two options i have are: 1.: Shove 2.: Give up And I don't like either. I need a general advice here for situations where, being the PFA, I face small to medium Stacks, miss the board completely and a standard C-bet would commit myself to the pot. How am I gonna play these Situations in general??</font> Thanks for comments and/or discussions. Sugar Nut

Probably best to just give it up-he did call big raise PF-I think it is a way ahead or way behind situation. At a higher limit, and more $ behind, I am betting. Save your cash for a better spot.

I raise more preflop 5.50-6. c/f flop with the 2 overs... i'm betting with more frequency with one overcard depends on opponent.

This is an ugly flop for you but you may still be ahead, unlikely but possible.
I dont think you want to be putting any more money in this pot right now however so i check behind here. Fold to any bet except a min bet. If villain checks turn i might think about a half pot bet.

Meh, villain calls a 3bet preflop, that narrows his range down pretty to where I think your beating 99(maybe)and TT. You probably are able to get QQ to fold on a flop like this if they don't have the Qd. The A covers a large part of villains range and since they are playing with a half stack and have already put almost 1/3 of it in preflop its going to be hard to get them to fold here. Plus you having the flush makes no sense because of how PF went. I think I take the free card against an unknown and try to spike a set of jacks.

I'm with trebek on raising more preflop. Once this turd of a flop hits, I'm most likely c/fing. However, I think there may be some merit in making a silly $1 bet. The board is scary and if villain doesn't have a piece of it, there's a small chance he'll see the bet as you trying to keep him in. While the chance is pretty small, if it's more than 11%, then stabbing here is +EV.
