can someone recommend some software that will assist me with cutting up mp3's and moving them into seperate tracks?

example - radio show i listen to is 6hrs long but i may want to grab 10min segement for a cd mix.

can someone give me some great free or pay software?

The best is pro tools but it is a full fledged editing suite.
