Anybody Else think Stars Ruined the $12 - 180's?

Is it just me or does it seem that the 180s aren't nearly as good of a tourney since they've been changed to a turbo format?

I understand Star's desire and need to make more money but the old structure was much much better IMO. Anyone else have any thoughts??

I like the 45 man turbos but it just seems like you have to get lucky too often to go deep.

ok - you're looking for a serious answer, I'll give you one.

I originally thought that Turbos were dumb. A longer / deeper structure gives more of an edge to good players, right?

I was wrong - I'm doing really well in the turbos, and it's because the same edges are pushed - just faster. The play is so horrible by most in these turbos that I go much deeper much more in them than the regular speed tourneys.

Sure, there are times where I go card dead, and it hurts more than it would in a regular speed tourney. (for example I busted 9th yesterday in one even though I was chip leader with 12 people left. Just went horribly card dead, and then finally pushed, was called by somebody who dominated me, GG OT).

But the times that I bust like this pale in comparison to the times I can go much deeper exploiting the mistakes made by my opponents.
