Default Do I play too tight?

Hi

Today really nothing worked as it should. I've built up my BR over the past few weeks from 250 to 890 (partly due to the deposit bonus, but 500 real profit) and today I wanted to move up a limit to the 22+2 turbos (was this too early? had an ROI of 10% in the 6$ and 11$, overall).
Now I'm dropped about 11 buyins back to 630...should I change back to the 11$ now, right?

But now to my game. On these days you always start to wonder if you play bad, especially since I have not a great ROI compared with some other guys here. I usually really play extremely tight until I reach the 10BB. I usually don't play any hands unless AQ,AQ and QQ+ and fold everything else. Usually that means I get shortstacked before the bubble and already have to try there to make a move. Today this really always went wrong. And the "funny" thing is not with marginal hands but with AK, AA, KK, QQ etc.

Should I loosen up my play a little bit or what do you do? And I really suck on the bubble when everybody has about the same stack size and more than 10BB. Usually I try to steal pots in LP with A9 or something by just raising. If I get reraised (as most of the time) I usually fold. Should I just push there, even with >10BB?

I had such a nice chart on sharkscope and now it just crashed

Yes, it was too soon to move up. How many games at each leve did you play.
Yes, you should move back down until you improve.
You probably shouldn't loosen up, your general early strategy is about right, but there are plenty of spots to raise 99,TT,JJ,AJ and worse in position, etc. You should be pushing with less then 10x almost always, an exception would be AA sometimes. Post some of the marginal hands or spots that you are unsure about, early TT,JJ, late position hands & then definitely post a lot of your under 10BB spots. Read the FAQ as well.

So you played 5k+ hands and maintained a 10% ROI. Not bad, but at the higher limits, you're not the only one who plays tight. Could just be variance though.

It is standard to lose x amount of buy-ins at SNGs over a brief period of time, especially if you are taking shots. Variance could be part of it. You might also chalk it up to you have not adjusted properly.

Theres a lot of factors. I would say its probably not "you just play too weak/tight" but more to a number of factors that are impossible to justify based on this brief hypothesis.

@mrmdan no I played about 600 SNGs so far. Not enough for a sample size I guess?

@trufloridagator: Yeah I sometimes tried to raise in LP with let's say TT, then I got called and on the flop almost always came 2 overcards. And If I make a continuation bet there I almost always get called by some chaser. That's why I even wanted to try to really fold everything expect AA and KK and then start to push or fold when I have 10BB.

So I will move back to my 11+1 turbos and post some hands here.
But one thing that seems new to me: You would almost anything under 10BB? Let's say you have 9BB are in LP, 7 players remain and it's folded to you. You would always push? Even if you have the bigstack next to you?

Don

You probably ran good @ the 6's and 11's. You have probably hit some varience and I have played you in some $6.50 and you have some leaks that will hurt you as you move up the stakes. Review your HH needs to be done constantly and especially when you are running good as this is when the most leaks will appear in your game.

Preflop is fine. There's no reason to check that flop. You have to bet it. There's a straight draw AND a flush draw out there, and you almost definitely have the best hand. As played, after the flop, there's no reason to bet the turn. It's definitely possible someone hit the flush. Same with river. If you're going to go broke on this hand, it should definitely be on the flop.
