Default She\'s a keeper, boys!

So my girlfriend 9 months or so is admittedly inexperienced in the kitchen, which isn't a big deal, and she decided to cook me dinner tomorrow night for the first time. Apparently, her inexperience in the kitchen was a little greater than I thought:

Her: do i have a skillet
Me: why don't you check first
Her: is that pan thing i have a skillet
Her: u know the pan i have
Me: no
Her: u dont know
Her: or its not
Me: i don't know
Her: ah
Me: do a google image search for skillet
Me: see what comes up
Me: and see if your thing looks like that
Her: apparently skillet is a band
Her: and all the pics are band related
Me: a skillet is just like a pan
Her: i dunno, my pan is a pan

WTF????? How the hell do you not know what a skillet is???
Deal-breaker? She is otherwise reasonably intelligent FWIW. Oh, and sorry for any misogyny in this post, ladies.

I like to cook, so I prefer a woman who doesn't mind doing the dishes. The fact that she doesn't know what a skillet is is a little dishearting, though.

This is the 3rd picture that came up on a Google Images search of "skillet."

She must not be to good at the internet either. In all fairness though, there are a bunch of pictures of some band.

Dude,

Your girlfriend sounds fat, she likes to cook, which means she likes to eat, which means she weighs close to 300 lbs.

My last girlfriend was the worst cook ever. Whatever she made me was always awful but I ate it with a big smile on my face and complimented her and was thankful.

I adored her though so I overlooked it and made sure we ate out as much as possible. I dont think she had a skillet either. At least I never saw one. Im pretty sure she would know what one was though.

I would focus on her willingness to try. I think that's sweet. She obviously has no interest whatsoever in cooking yet she wants to do it for you. I would have good size snack before you go over there so you are not too hungry. It may not be edible.

Bluffoon,

As I hinted at in my OP, it's not a big deal at all that she can't cook. It's just a bit concerning that she doesn't even know what a skillet looks like.

Dinner trip report will follow this weekend.
