I think the government can make a more effective commercial if they would just tell both sides of the story.

i.e. doing drugs will increase the chance that you will screw up your life in the future, but will also increase the chance that you get laid and become more popular as well.

It's not like we don't know that is a true already.

Like the anti-steroid commercials that have been on lately. All they mentioned was the bad, they don't mention how steroids makes you look much better and will help you pull much hotter ass. Again it's not like the general public doesn't already know these things, but it sounds so much better when the commercial isn't so blatantly biased.

Truth.org commercials actually worked because they used the strategy of "these corporations WANT you to smoke". The Phillip Morris ads don't work because they say "your parents DON'T WANT you to smoke".

The drug commericals are bad: I noticed the one about the girl who got pregnant from a bag of weed was pulled pretty fast.

I would say that the only time I've ever wanted to smoke would be right after watching a Truth ad. That seems to be a popular opinion amongst my peers.

Yeah, that was my all time favorite drug commercial. I tried speed (did not get into it) when I was 18 and it was totally gross.
