Default Hand vs. Allen Cunningham at Borgata Poker Open

Allen is two seats to my right and Ted Forrest is right on my left (I know, great draw).

I had been playing pretty ABC so far. Allen had been playing very solid, not really tangling in many pots (this guy builds stacks more quietly than I've ever seen anyone do before).

Starting stacks were 25K (or maybe 20K). I had around 30K. Allen had about 15K.

Blinds at 100/200.

3 limpers to Allen who also limps. I make it 1400 to go on the Button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Folded around back to Allen who calls.

Flop: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Allen checks...

Walk me through your thoughts and plan for the hand (sorry MLG, I like this format too).

One more outburst like that and I'm giving your HH to Salvation Army and not posting a single hand!

bet 2500, 2/3 pot. this leaves allen with ~11k left, just for future reference. if raised im probably going to the felt with this, as the chance alan is overplaying an overpair or making a play with two high cards is much greater than the times he has a set.

if called, i dont see too many turn cards i would slow down to. a 5 puts a straight on the board, but the only 7x id see him call with is 67s or 77. allen now has almost exactly a pot bet left, so i don't see doing anything but pushing. small bet/call a push has some merrit i suppose.

I would like some information on how AC likely views you, Kramer.

I would bet out, making whatever bet looks like a cbet with high cards. If villain raises, I probably reraise. This is not a good hand to play slow. If villain calls, I bet the turn. I am definately willing to go allin on the flop.

AC probably has a pp. If he has a set, you are screwed. I would play it fast, because I want to win the hand or get the money in before the board pairs. If the board pairs and doesn't make you a boat, I would be concerned.

If Allen wants to play on, it doesn't matter at all how he sees him. It's a 3 street pot and unless a bad card hits you already know you'll put chips in on at least two of them.

Anyway, 2500 it, and let's move on to the turn.

PS: the fascination with limper pwnage is cool but overrated vs. people that are good at poker, IMO.

Adanthar,

Getting a feel for AC's range when he limp/calls almost 10% of his stack certainly should take into account how AC views Kramer.

I think allen's most likely hands by far are 55-TT. Bet 3k, look uncomfortable and hope he doesnt have 66. Its important to bet on the big side here because the cards that we are comfortable seeing (mainly paint) are cards he will be unlikely to put more money in against.

TBH, i have trouble seeing allen doing anything other than check-calling one street, and then check folding to another bet with hands like 88-TT and he prob crs the flop all-in with 55-77 (77 he may cc with).

OP raised the limpers with 43s. AC who is playing very tight limp called almost 10% of his stack. I think it is pretty obvious how AC views OP.
