The Devil's Advocate

[/ QUOTE ]

i don't get this. who was the loser/good guy?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't remember the exact details but at the end Keanu like 'wakes up' or whatever and goes to the bathroom and the reporter or something is the devil from the dream. He's smiling I think like he planned the dream to have Keanu not do something that he was going to do in the near future, or something like that. I'm probably wrong.

wtf Silence and Empire?

-Hannibal is not the bad guy, Gumb is.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is an interesting point. hannibal clearly isn't the antagonist (though he is a "bad guy").

one of the greatest coups of the film _silence of the lambs_ is how it makes me root for Lecter during the escape scene.

[ QUOTE ]

-Vader's ONLY goal was to bring Luke to the Dark Side, and he did everything he had planned, and it failed miserably, Luke still said "I'll never join you"

[/ QUOTE ]

i think The Empire is the antagonist in _The Empire strikes back_, and the empire is kicking ass: they've caught one of the leaders of the Rebellion, the only Light Jedi left is missing his lightsaber hand, Solo is in carbonite, etc.

The reporter gives him another chance to indulge in the sin of pride at the end and Reaves' character accepts.

Seven Samurai

I didn't really see the farmers as the bad guys in that movie. I think the point he was making was more complex than that.
