Kramer,

Your flop bet is horrible, because instead of check/shoving a hand like 99 now he can check call.

ad,
what's so bad about checking the turn?

[/ QUOTE ]

It's a free ~20% even if he 'only' has 8 outs, + he can have a ton more, + he is gonna CR with pair+draws or overpairs a lot here that we can pick off if you bet the right #...I know what you might be thinking and I would check AA here often, but not bottom 2.

[/ QUOTE ]

Adanthar, do you consider checking AA here but not 45 solely because of the 6 extra outs a PP has vs 45 or is there another factor I am overlooking? thanks

jesus christ checking AA or 43 are both equally awful on this board.

also bet/folding AA or 43 on this turn is [censored] AWFUL.

btw all this is ansky i am posting on a month old gimmick account because i have 3 hours left on my self imposed ban.

update: after talking to MLG some more, we're probably bet/folding and not bet/shoving which makes the two options much closer together. I still think betting is slightly better but it's not all that clear cut anymore.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that this is exactly correct, as your hand at this point, plays just like AA.

what does it have to do with balls? seems like 800 or 1000 accomplish the same thing. . .just curious

obviously post flop is much more important

turn is super standard bet/call, doing anything else is terrible.

the only reason this hand warrants any interest at all is because villain is Allen Cunningham.

4 limpers to Hero. You have to take them into consideration and price them out. A "proper" raise is considered by most to be 3X the BB + 2X for any limper. That would be 600 + 200 + 200 + 200 + 200. That comes out to 1400. Although some people feel just 1X the BB is enough, so that would be a raise to 1,000. I prefer 3X + 2X, although neither sizes are wrong.

With 4 limpers, OP's raise to 7xBB is standard. OP could raise more. If he raised less, he might get more callers, but it also might look suspicious that he had a big pair and wanted action. A smaller raise could also just be a donk who didn't know how much to raise.
