I probably bought something like $1500 worth of Pro Wrestling pay per view videos when I was 12-14... They were so [censored] expensive too, like 30-40 bucks a pop... I can't believe how retarded I was...

Besides sports cards add a few autographs to that, not as much as other people I know, but that is $200-$300 I would like back.

Baseball cards. Found a keystone Bowman 1952 Ted Williams card (worth $70 at the time) in my grandparents attic when I was 10 years old (1981) and continued to buy 1952 Bowmans whenever I saw one for the next 10 years, paying $35 to $50 a pop. Collected about 70 of them (about half the entire set) until they were stolen along with about $2000 worth of CD's and cassettes, and my comic book collection (many valuable early X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spawn, etc.). The Ted Williams card was worth about $700 when it got stolen. Not sure what it's worth now. It still hurts a little bit when I think of all the time and care and money I put into those cards and comics. I would have continued to collect baseball cards forever if not for them being stolen. Now, 16 years later, it would seem such a waste of time and energy and money to try and get back to where I was. Christ, I could have paid off my house with all the money that got wasted on that stuff.

In 8th grade I spent over $1000 (2 years of mowing lawn) on an entirely chrome framed Haro stunt bike. I proceeded to kit it out with all sorts of pegs and other trick crap. I had the most balla bike in town. Rode it for a year and it was stolen. I should have spent $100 on a Wal-Mart bike.

RC Cars

I can't call that a waste, since I now know a hell of a lot more about electronics because of it. Then again, I only had 2 of them. A Kyosho Raider and then an Associated RC/10 graphite.

Apparently neither one of these cars exist anymore.

[/ QUOTE ]

Amen. I remember being pretty surprised when my parents bought me my first Associated RC 10. (With an electronic speed control obv! The mechanical ones were for chumps.) But it was seriously one of the best things they did for me as far as education outside of school and getting me to hang out with other smart kids (Asians!) who had cars.

The motors/batteries/servos/etc. and other cars I bought on my own dime I don't consider a waste of money at all.
