Re: event #25 SHOOTOUT 7/16 ???
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Indeed: Harry Demetrieu, displeased with the short-handed format for today's shootout, starts shouting, "I want my money back right now!" The crowd starts cheering. Mike Matusow shouts, "I'm with you, Harry!" Harrah's employees approach Demetrieu and give him a thirty minute penalty after he shouts that he wants to withdraw and that "It's disgraceful." Soon after, he is ejected from the tournament by Harrah's and cannot return to play. As he's led out of the room, he continues to shout that he's "absolutely disgusted" and "I have been thrown out of the tournament for objecting!" [/ QUOTE ] That CardPlayer update has mysteriously vanished... [/ QUOTE ] Think Harrah's has some sort of control over the updates to eliminate any "bad" news? Harry had already made known his displeasure with Harrah's in this post over at the Hendon Mob website. I assume he's looking for Mr. Pollack again. [/ QUOTE ] he also cross posted this on full contact pokers forums. which DN just posted he was going to skip the first two blind periods to get some extra sleep, so I think we know who David Singer was against, if it wasnt PH. |

No, Bart only buys into Omaha 8 tournaments twice. He's currently in the Stars $370 WSOP Satellite.
Singer's table was headsup, maybe DN's table is playing a little more sensibly. |

Re: event #25 SHOOTOUT 7/16 ???
After reading all the links, I don't think Harry has a leg to stand on.
He says "this isn't the event that was advertised", and "now I have to win more tables than if we played ten-handed". IMO, neither of these assertions is correct. The "advertisement" posted above says that 100 players will start Day Two, and ten players will start Day Three. The only way that can happen is if the players are spread over 100 tables on Day One. Nowhere does it promise full tables on Day One. Whether the tables are full or not, you play at three tables, max. You don't need to "win more tables". I realize that bashing HET is in vogue now, and I've yet to disagree with any of the bashing up until now. But Harry was wrong on this one, and from what I've read, his behavior was way out of line. There's a right way to voice your displeasure to the TD, and playing to the crowd isn't it. And finally, I really can't understand why anyone would be upset about needing to beat five players to advance, instead of needing to beat nine opponents. It's like getting a bye in the first round (OK, half a bye). You're going to play a lot more short-handed poker than full-table poker with this format any way, so what's the big deal? |
