Default Poker in CHINA ??

Hi,

I'm going to China with my wife for 10 days in MArch and I was woundering if I'll be able to play online poker ?? I know they block most stuff from there and it's illegal to play. But I wanna know if their is any ways to go around that ?? And most important IS IT SAFE for me if I stay 10 days there and play about 5 days out of the trip or I'll end up in a dark hole with out food loll ??

if it's not in the right forum please move it... thanks

Personal opinion, I wouldn't go to another country, especially a Communist country, and knowingly break their laws. Could you end up in a dark hole with no food? Absolutely, especially in China, a place not exactly knowns for promoting, protecting, or even acknowledging human rights.

Now in truth, I doubt you'd ever hear a peep out anyone about being a tourist playing online poker for a few days. But then again, who knows? Remember these are the people who want Google search results filtered.

There are safe options such as a VPN, using remote desktop to control your stateside pc etc but I'm not sure how much trouble you're willing to go to.

Good luck and if you don't ever return, we'll know you found the answer to your question the hard way. (only joking!)

it's not illegal to play there, I used to see a fair few Chinese players on iPoker before the urge to kill got too much and I left. Intercasino have a Chinese skin and Crypto are moving in too afaik.

All gambling is illegal in China, they might well be opening up Chinese language skins. Party wasn't blocked last time I went which was over a year ago.

You might need to worry more about the wife being angry about playing poker (on holiday?) than the authorities.

But more seriously the post about accessing via a vpn or remote access is good. Unless someone sees you playing using one of those methods it will be a lot more difficult to detect than connecting direct to a sites IP address.

Looks like the ISP's are policing it.
