Re: Worst run of cards ever? 4/8Live
It was a good game, too, with donks calling in EP with 89o and any two suited will do.
Second best sucks, but not getting any cards at all is worse, I think. You're paying blinds to see 62o. I was down $141 without playing. Ish. And my fingers were BLUE from the crappy $1 Bellagio chips. |

Getting cold decked (second best hands) is MUCH worse than getting nothing and folding. Also, 2.5 hours is less than 100 hands. That's nothing. Haven't played live much I take it? |

I've easily gone 4-6 hours without winning a hand on several occasions.

Re: Worst run of cards ever? 4/8Live
Sounds like my last 2 months of live play. I think there are a few positives I try and remond myslef of from card dead sessions like these: Knowing that I have a good knowledge of the game, Good starting hand selections, Knowing that I have Discipline & Patience, I'm smart enough not to cold call raises with marg starting hands, I'm not spewing away money needlessly, recognizing various styles of others play & getting in playing valuable playing experience. I find that now that I have had so many card dead sessions in the last 2 months that my patience has gotten even stronger. It does suck having to fold for 2-3 hours straight but this is my style. Sounds like yours as well. And finally, look at the others rebuying all the time and look at all the money you could have been pissing away if you played like the bad players do.

Re: Worst run of cards ever? 4/8Live
i played live for 7 hours last night and the only pp's i got were 44 and 66. i did get AK a few times and AQ once, though. woohoo! oh, and it helps to finish up 60bb's to help ease the burden of not catching premium hands pf. oh, and this was NL so it's sort of different anyway. glad i could be here to help!

Re: Worst run of cards ever? 4/8Live
This is nothing. I once spent nearly 4 hours in the Foxwoods 20/40 without seeing a flop. I played catch with the dealer and stole a few blind. About the 2nd hour I decided the poker gods were testing me, I was right. I left stuck 15BBs and still consider the session a turning point of my poker career. In fact, it's my biggest "win".

Re: Worst run of cards ever? 4/8Live
Went a whole weekend in your town CJ without seeing AA once in over 30 hours of play. When we sign up for SSHE freshman orientation 101 we should be told that we will be sentenced to (hours/days/weeks/months) - your choice of fill in - of being dealt unmentionable and unplayable hands PF.
Damn it has been cold in LA in February! Down 100BB overall. And that includes the 1 and 1/2 hr. heater at O/8 that was +80BB!! So a brief heat wave can restore order in hurry, too. |
