If you are going to fold on the river if you don't get there, I'd call. If you hit, SB will almost always make a crying call (from my experience). So, you're saving ~$30 when you miss, and getting the extra ~$30 when you hit.

If you are going to call the river because he could have been bluffing a flush draw or another set or whatever, push.

After writting out an entire post about this hand i looked at the stacks. The villain should have no more than $20 behind. Push. It's +ev to push here and you dont want to have a stupid decision when he puts in his last $20 on the river. you are 3:2 underdog v. 78 and there is already:

PF: $20 + Flop $24 + turn $52 = $96 dollars in the pot before you set him in making pushing +ev (unless i am incredibly bad at math, in which case you are still +EV pushing here).

So, basically, Calling is stupid because of the stack sizes. If you had 300BB at the beginning of the hand then call >>> push. But you dont. So push.

Omfg Push.. Every... Single.. Time WOW is this even a question?? Calling would be so stupid.. he only has 20$ left.

To make this thread more discussion worth, if he had another say 150$ behind, I still push. If he has like 200 or more, I might be more inclined to call. I didn't do the exact math out on this one but I cant see him being ahead of you very often

Given the assumption he will pay you off for that last 20 if you hit, then I see nothing wrong with just calling here. It could save you $20 when you miss but you will still gain the same amount if you hit, just like abscr said. Hoever, if you think he's capable of laying down the straight then the flush comes or board pairs then you should definately be pushing.

I dont think its as clear-cut of an answer as Slider seemed to make it though.

What's with your flop and turn bet amounts?

I'd just put the rest of his money in right there. He'll have 78 a lot, but you have tons of outs and he'll have 66/22 or something retarded the rest of the time.

It's an extra $20 in a $270 pot. If you get it all in now you can't be making more than about a $2 mistake because you are nearly 50-50 against the nuts. If you call and fold the river unimproved you could be making a $270 mistake. So if just maybe, one time in a hundred, he might do this without 78, then you must reraise all in.

The answer is push--you're a 3-2 dog to 78 and the $ already in the pot combined with how little he has left makes this easy. Also by pushing you don't have to deal with a stupid river 20 bet that you're going to have to call anyway.
