Default Raise or call this straight PLO25

No reads so far.
What would you do? (besides raising preflop)

Poker Stars
Pot Limit Omaha Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
hero: $26.50
UTG+1: $16.25
CO: $19.40
Button: $12.30
SB: $17.20
BB: $21.45

Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
hero calls, UTG+1 calls, <font color="#cc0000">CO raises to $1.35</font>, 2 folds, BB calls, hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($5.5, 4 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB bets $5.25</font>, <font color="#cc0000">HERO???

Is raising pot the right move?

Thanks

Raising with the nuts can never be a mistake.

i think iīd rather give him some rope. you have the nuts, blockers to a higher str8 and two backdoor flush draws while villain prob has an overpair. there arenīt too many cards to be scared of plus heīll fire again on the turn for sure.

calling was my first intention (for the reasons u mentioned).
Then I decided to raise. I never slowplay anything less than
quads in PLO.
Do you think a set (esp. top set) will ever fold to a PSR?

Let's turn it around: would you call here if you had top set hoping to fill up?

just call. you're not freerolling anything at this stage, so all you stand to do by raising is get more money into the pot against a very small selection of hands that are freerolling you, fold out hands you have drawing dead, and charge sets to draw out on you in somewhat of a reverse implied odds situation. By just calling here you can find a freeroll with half the deck on the turn and when he pots and you go all-in he might even feel committed with a hand like T98x/lower straights.

@Grinch

I smooth call here. You have the nuts, blockers to higher straight and 2 backdoors.

I'd waiting for the turn to raise pot.

I should have done that.

This is how it ended:

Poker Stars
Pot Limit Omaha Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.25
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
hero: $26.50
UTG+1: $16.25
CO: $19.40
Button: $12.30
SB: $17.20
BB: $21.45

Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is UTG with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
hero calls, UTG+1 calls, <font color="#cc0000">CO raises to $1.35</font>, 2 folds, BB calls, hero calls, UTG+1 calls.

Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($5.5, 4 players)
<font color="#cc0000">BB bets $5.25</font>, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises to $21</font>, <font color="#cc0000">UTG+1 calls all-in $14.9</font>, CO folds, <font color="#cc0000">BB calls all-in $14.85</font>.
Uncalled bets: $0.9 returned to hero.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($60.6, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $50.2, Sidepot 1: $10.4)

River: 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($60.6, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $50.2, Sidepot 1: $10.4)

Results:
Final pot: $60.6

UTG+1 called with top set and filled up.

Am I missing something here:

pokenum -o ah jd jh td - qs 9h 9s 3s - kh js tc 2h -- 9d 7s 8h
Omaha Hi: 666 enumerated boards containing 7s 9d 8h
cards win %win lose %lose tie %tie EV
Jd Td Ah Jh 51 7.66 288 43.24 327 49.10 0.322
Qs 9s 3s 9h 280 42.04 386 57.96 0 0.00 0.420
Js Tc Kh 2h 8 1.20 331 49.70 327 49.10 0.258

According to this, one should never fold top set?
I don't get it.
Can someone please explain these numbers to me?
Thanks

If you have top set and you'd know that two people both have the straight then clearly you want a 3-way allin. HU top set is not a mathematical favorite so you wouldn't call a potsized bet if you knew for sure that your opponent has a straight.

@Sondring: raising with the nuts can be a mistake. In this case saying it's a mistake is perhaps a bit crude but it's certainly suboptimal, and the deeper the stacks are/better your opponents are, the more of a mistake it would be.
