I think its more of the US dollar getting weaker then the canadian getting stronger. It is forecast for the Canadian dollar dollar to pass the US one .

More recently, it's more the CAD getting stronger than the USD getting weaker. You can see this by comparing the CAD to the EUR and noticing that it has had a similar rise over the past few months while the USD has fallen only a little in the same time period.

So finally after all those years of americans picking on our "loonie", we can throw insults at them soon.

Now if only we can get a bigger army, they'll totally be out of ammo on us, eh?

What I wouldn't give to go back to those days when Americans were making fun of our worthless Canadian dollar.

I think it always was and currently still is the best plan. Nothing to do with the exchange rate, it's just best to avoid the typical vig incurred when swapping currency around. This way you only get hit once buying in and once cashing out.

I agree. Especially since I fully expect that if the U.S. dollar still goes down, there is no way that the rate at which it falls will be anywhere near what it was in the last few years. Meaning, I expect the rate of fall to significantly slow down.

Though nothing's impossible.
