Live hand with table talk (6-12)
I played this hand the last time I was in Vegas. I don't know why I was thinking about it...
6-12 Mirage The table is full of pretty bad players. Some are just bad and some are playing poorly while we're waiting for a 10-20 table to start up. I overlimp in MP with 66 and there's another limper or two behind me. Both blinds come along and it's 5-6 to the flop. The flop is 865. It's checked to me and I bet, getting called in 3 spots. The turn is a 5 and it's checked to me again. I bet, it's folded to SB who check-raises. We're now heads up and I 3-bet it. SB 4-bets, and I make it 5. I don't know whether this is playing past the cap since we started the street multiway, but I didn't say anything and neither did anyone else. SB looks at his hand, looks at me for a while and playing with the chips in his hand. Then he says, "97s? Yeah... you like the kind of guy who plays 97s in early position" and raises again. Hero... ? |

Re: Live hand with table talk (6-12)
Maybe it's weak, but I want to call down. His comment makes me think he has a full house more than 5x, straight, or a really retarded bluff. You're ahead of the full house/quads range 8 to 4, so maybe I'd put one more raise in and call down if he 8bets it, but I don't like putting in more than that.

Re: Live hand with table talk (6-12)
hmmm, weird thing for him to say if he's holding the nuts, then again I've heard fish holding the nuts mention to their opponent that they're in trouble & should fold.
Hard to say there are 2 hands that beat you obv. 88 & 55 & 85. There's a decent chance he has 65, also he could even be thinking he's trying to free-roll you with 97. After his comment I can't see him holding 85 but then again if he's making that kind of comment than I prolly couldn't put it past him. I don't get why he had to look at his hand if he had a set on the flop tho, unless he's going for a little hollywood. Personally with no cap I'd go 1 more than call down if he pops again. |

Say "85? Yeah, you like like the kind of d-bag who will make me rich with 85" and 7-bet.

Re: Live hand with table talk (6-12)
I go one more and call down from there.
Either that, I or just call down. I think it's pretty irrelevant. He's talking because he has 88, 55, 85, or 95, or 56. I'm not sure of the possibilities of these hands (not in the mood to do math), but I think not going one more bet or not won't be a big leak either way. |

aaron how many bets left? [/ QUOTE ] We're both deep enough that I didn't think about it. I'm pretty sure I had at least another 10 BB in front of me. |

Re: Live hand with table talk (6-12)
I'd just call and go to war if the river isn't an 8.

I dunno; seems like an insanely easy calldown.
