Default Printing money at bodog - KTo

typical loose-passive table. There are a couple of good players at this table tonight, neither of whom are in the hand. seeing alot of 4-6 player flops. It's all about the loose table SSHE page. Anyone who thinks these games has disappeared should come play bodog .50/1.00 with me.

I wanted to post a set I thought I played very well (ouch, my arm! I broke it patting my own back!) but this is a more marginal, tricky hand. Bring on the pain.

MP is very loose and passive, SB is as well though she'll push with TP (fair enough!), BB is weak tight.

Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Folds around, MP calls, 3 folds, hero calls, button folds, SB calls, BB checks.

I figure I'm probably ahead of MP who limps any old thing. SB and BB could be on anything. I plan to fold UI in this small pot.

FLOP (4SB)
T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB checks, BB checks, MP checks, hero bets, SB folds, BB folds, MP calls.

I reckoned MP's check here basically meant: I have nothing. Typical LP behaviour. If he had bet out I'd have folded.

TURN (3BB)
2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
MP checks, hero bets, MP folds.

Final pot = 3 BB.

If MP plays any two, raise pf. Bet flop and turn for sure. What exactly was the question?

Grunch.

If MP is as you say, raise and try to isolate. You'd rather shut out other players if you can w/ this marginal holding if it becomes multiway.

As it turns our you're lucky nobody had one of those draws to come w/ you to the turn besides MP.

Not a very exciting hand, but if you add some pf aggression, I'll give you more credit. Read Ed Miller's "Taking off the training wheels" post again if you already have. When poor players enter the pot, you should want to be in the hand with them. That doesn't mean you play anything, but you'd rather have them all to yourself if possible.

You may want to just put my last post in the back of your mind for now. It sounds like you're not quite ready for it and the training wheels are there for us for a reason. Keep working on the basics.

Doesn't even matter if MP is unknown, this is a very straightforward preflop raise.

Huh! Someone explain this to me please. I also thought this is a very easy raise pf, just to isolate and drive the blinds out. But actually, our equity seems higher (is it "higher" or "bigger"?) with the BB in the hand:

This advice is killing me in real life. I go from limping with crap hands like KTo to trying to convince myself to raise with crap hands.

From trying to follow some semblance of SSHE to ignoring it in favor of game texture and raising any sooted Ace in MP3, CO and Btn after one limper.

It is a puzzle to me. But I am having a poker crisis after last nite.

I don't like pokerstove much but I don't even know what you're saying. You're saying you can have 38% equity of a 3-way 3.5 sb pot or 54% equity of a headsup 5.5 sb pot, and you're thinking that the 3-way scenario is better?

I was just as confused. I know it's incorrect, but can't put my finger on the obvious.
