Default Money Management ?

I'm not talking about bankroll managment. That should be second nature to us all.

My question is about money management in this post-UIGEA, increasingly unstable internet era. Every week there are stories of players funds being frozen by sites. Some of these are scammers, but there always seems to be a few that have been falsely accused. Hacking accounts seems to be increasing (Raymer's account was broken into). Neteller is making progress toward releasing the players funds, but it will be a slow progress. Money is sluggish to move in and out of the sites, and some of the new e-wallets have their own credibility issues. Poker rooms are not as stable as they were 8 months ago, there have been many that have left the US market, at least one that took funds (jetset?), and some that have gone out of business (planet, pamela, etc.?).

How are you managing the risks? How much to keep at any one site? How many bb or buy ins should be kept online to assure not having to wait to reload the accout. Just curious what approaches people are taking.

As a UK player, I am happy to keep several thousand $ in Stars or in any of the well-known UK bookie sites (Will Hill, Ladbrokes etc).

I just cashed out $4k thru neteller last week so am more relaxed than I was about keeping money in there now but just keep a small float there (say $500) unless I am actually cashing out.

I have dropped my online roll from about $13k to $6k since the NT freeze. I play $100 NL and $200 NL so am decently rolled even with $6k.

For Euro players not much has actually changed - it's just that everyone is feeeling a bit more paranoid these days..

I have easily 30 buy ins per site (retardedly too much)

but mostly so I can "play higher" if I feel like I'm playing my A+ game.

I'm not too worried about sites taking our money, I just make sure

a.) I have 6 months saved up in a U.S. bank that I can live off of

and b.) I have a live roll "just in case"

I believe Rika means a bank in the United States in general, not US Bank, hence the "a US bank."
