That's [censored] up. As someone who is now inevitably going to be linked to this whole thing, I am pleading with whoever did that to take it off of the table. I do not want to hear about this guy getting hurt and then have to wonder the rest of my life if I was partially responsible for a (probable) thief being killed outside of our established justice systems.

nat,

i think you should wait until this becomes a credible claim before you start getting actually concerned about this.

also, if for some reason you do need to be concerned about yourself, i have a place for you here in vegas, also places in small towns throughout the midwest, and i'm being very serious, no kidding around.

I don't know whether the guy is leveling, but if he is then that's one of the most [censored] up things I've seen on a poker forum and I hope he gets an IP ban.

In terms of my personal safety, I don't really think they're that dumb. First, for reasons I've outlined, it doesn't make much sense for them to do that. Second, people like Josem, Adanthar, Druff, etc have been much more involved than I have. Third, I should make clear that I have not received a single threat or hint of a threat from AP or anyone else involved. Fourth, I get the feeling that if someone was to try to hurt me, I would not have time to pack up and leave.

That being said, I very much appreciate the offer and I look forward to meeting a lot of the other people who have been involved in this.

I think we should organize a group, seems like Las Vegas would be a logical choice to actually have people fly in and meet in a room and go over everything, have an actually meeting.

good idea or no?

btw, i would be happy to pay for drinks.

It sounds to me like they're upset that people both inside and outside of their organization are leaking their secrets.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds that way to me too. Throughout this game with Absolute they have played it close to the vest disclosing as little as possible. The poker community seems to have been very transparent in personal meetings, phone calls, websites and forums with our cards face up.

They have all of their internal information and most of the information that we have. We have some leaked internal (mis?)information and that which we garnered with poker tracker, screen names, locations, tournament and cash databases.

Even if we can somehow gain position on Absolute, we may not do any better than Marcos did with POTRIPPER.

Absolute wants to include 2p2 et al in the audit. Why? To gain even more information or to turn excellent potential witnesses into ineffective auditors with conflicts of interests.

I think this [censored] is making me permanently paranoid.

It appears to me that they are being deliberately evasive because they have been repeatedly stung by statements they previously released and were disproven.

I'm glad to hear that they are going to pay the affected players the money back, either way. But they have a lot more explaining to do as well. I assume that they are internally debating the "come clean and fix it" theory and the "cover it up as much as possible and put the body in the closet" theory of corporate governance. Looks like at the moment they are still trying to determine if they can hide the body.

But if indeed there is misinformation being spread in the poker community, the blame rests with them. They originally scoffed at this, and then "investigated" (LOL) the matter internally and did NOTHING. An impromptu investigation was conducted by others who had little access to crucial information and it showed completely damning evidence of foul play despite the STONEWALLING of AP. Now AP states that some things are true, and some things ain't, but they can't specify which is which. This is just an awful, awful way to handle this. Without complete transparency and "naming names" they can't restore their credibility.

These claims have made me wonder. The evidence of cheating is repeatedly claimed to be convincing in these threads. Are these convictions based on belief that the reported Excel-file is genuine?

[/ QUOTE ]

Now we know which will be the official defense line of AP: "that file is a fake, we swear"

Not a bad idea, but I don't want to have to catch up on 1000 posts when I have to fly across country.

Some eastern european "fish" who got swindled by AP are not very happy about this. Some of them don't [censored] around and I know this through ethnic ties that I can't exactly disclose and I wouldn't even say anything if this account wasn't anonymous.

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't believe this at all.
