Re: foxwoods new room
um...i took all his chips.
i didn't need to raise more preflop to get heads up and didn't want to scare off the original raiser. i guess i could have made it $25 or $30...whatever. but - after his flop bet of $25 he didn't have a lot of chips left...my only choices were to raise the min or put him all in...i wanted to induce a call or all-in from him (i figured he had something like AJ or QQ), I did not want to scare him off his hand by pushing all in! i don't like to raise the min much, but sometimes it makes sense. in this case i thought it was the best way to get all of his money -and i turned out to be right. if i had raised more on the flop he probably would have folded his AK...and that would be yuck! i opened the door for a poor attempt at a bluff. if you can't see that you shouldn't be calling people donkeys. |

Re: foxwoods new room
$2400 is more than enough for that 4/8 game.

^^heh
We're talking long term. $2,400 is enough to sit down to a 50-100 table for a few hours or so but you need 300-500 big bets to consider playing long term. |

I'm planning on going tomorrow. Where is the new room? All I've heard is downstairs. Is it near the business center?

Re: foxwoods new room
i know, i know...
my mindset is that i have a job and i go to the casino with my 'poker money' - winnings from other games...so i'm prepared to use it all on one day. obviously not the case if you play poker for a living. |

Re: foxwoods new room
I am blogging a new review of the new room myself (deadmonywalking@livejournal.com). sorry Tstone I couldn't say much good about it.
1. Low ceilings. The high ceiling upstairs was refreshing and scenic. It also put energy into the games. I have not seen 7 people in for 3 bets pf in limit, but we always had that upstairs. 2. Cramped. It is so hard to move around because they jammed in so many tables. 3. Restrooms, tiny. 4. Sunlight. Your eyes should never hurt from the sun in a poker room, nuff said. |

Re: foxwoods new room
omg good point on the sun. poker players have gone through strict regiments of avoiding sunlight. if sunlight touches our skin we melt. better notify the floor managers before people start dying.
