In my opinion, you don't owe him [censored] except that you promised it to him. Why did you even offer him a percentage? I could understand if you were going to be gone for long but he played them for 45 minutes, he had no risk and it doesn't seem like he was playing during any critical ITM moments.

Give him what you think is fair and don't listen to anyone else. He should be ecstatic to receive anything.

It's not an issue of greed, it's an issue of whats fair.

At no point did I say anything like hey BBV please tell me that it's cool to lowball my friend bc I think I should give him $X but instead I want to give him $Y.

Have you asked him how much he thinks he deserves?

He's a good friend and I needed his help, its only fair to offer him something, I'm just not sure what. The whole no risk to him makes me think that he doesn't deserve an equal hourly share. It's similar to a staking arrangement, they only recieve 50% of the profits, but they take on no risk of losing.

BTW, he took me from 5K to 14K and I think I got ITM about 1.5hrs after I came back, also I peaked at 1.3M before I busted 3rd.

And Bakes if you want some $ on UB PM me, I'll be looking to get most of my winnings on FTP or PS.

well that's absolutely what you're coming off like

[ QUOTE ]
I told him if I cashed in either I would hook him up based on my hourly profit. I busted in one tourny and finished third in one of them after playing for a total of 7.5 hrs. So in other words he played for 10% of the tournament I profited in.

Since he had no risk whatsoever I'm not sure he deserves 10%, if he had offered to front part of the buyin then I would.

At the moment I'm trying to decide between 5-10%. What should I do?

[/ QUOTE ]

but obv pay him whatever you want.

I haven't even talked to him today yet, he has no idea how I finished (unless he checked cardplayer at work). I just wanted an idea of what I should say to him when I see him.

Ya this is what it comes down to, there were no specifics discussed, I decided to base it off my hourly profit. It worked out that I made 1800 every 45 mins. Does he deserve the full portion? Does he deserve half of it like a stake? Should I meet in the middle and give him 1350? I'm not sure, I've never been in this situation before.
