Default PM from Sitngo Wizard

Request from the SitNGo Wizard
From: SitNGo Wizard
Greetings durran597,

I am the author of the SitNGo Wizard. I would like to post a message in the STT forum, but before I do I would like to get your approval. The entire message follows and I think it is pretty self explanatory. Please let me know if you have any questions or problems with me posting it.

Best regards,
Dennis

The SitNGo Wizard Needs Your Help

I estimate about 90 percent of all criticism of the SitNGo Wizard is directed at its opponent modeling. While it can never be perfect, I am determined to eliminate at least 50 percent of that 90 percent. To achieve that goal, I need your help.

I have posted a series of 4 surveys, each containing some sample hands asking you to estimate an opponent’s hand range. The results of the surveys will be used in the Wizard’s default opponent modeling.

Please follow the link below and take a few minutes to complete the surveys. Each survey should take between 5 and 10 minutes to complete. Even if you cannot finish them all a one time, you can always come back later.

Thanks very much for your help.

SNGWiz is a very good program, with a reputation on the STT board. What do people think?

Personally I'm fine with a known, frequently discussed program trying to improve their product to better serve the needs of 2p2 users.

I also like that the poster checked with you first.

We routinely allow users to complain about any aspect of the program they find questionable.

My vote is to allow it unless vetoed by the Reds.

I know times are getting rough for SNG people. I dont think theres much of a reason not to allow it. Its pretty much a community working together in order to get better. Since they do "work" themselves (by ranging) they arent just consuming the final product they are paying for. They are just putting information together they already have access to in an attempt to make their game more efficient.

Im not saying there arent arguments against it but yeah. Pros and cons.

Im in for a "yes"

I personally have no problem with this, as it doesn't seem like his intentions are to advertise his software. And anyway, we have a link to it in one of our stickies... so I say let him post it.

At this point, give him a tentative green light. I think it's a good thread, but you might want to advise him that you might have to lock his thread or move it to the mod forum if a red comes in here and says otherwise.
