Wow, I don't know what to say. Thanks for the recent information, 1975 wow. Technology and our understanding of the world has really not increased since then.

And then to top it off with an editorial, with a guy whose main source seems to be Michael Chriton, A science fiction author with a M.D.

This editorial is really worthless. It is obvious he does not really have a clear understanding about science.

Scientists really are crazy people. They change their conclusions based on compelling new evidence rather than clinging to anitquated beliefs that are contradicted by overwhelming evidence. People like scientists are why the terrorists are winning.

If the Man-Causes-Global-Warming-Cultists would follow the scientific method....then people like me would SHUT UP. But this is not the case.....

Michael Crichton lecture called "Aliens Cause Global Warming" does a good job of showing that scientists have a long history of abandoning the scientic method in favor of chasing fads based on faith. The Man-Causes-Global-Warming-Cult "scientists are the latest black-eye and affront to proper scientific research...... 'Scientists' use to claim that the sun revolved around the earth. Human nature never changes. Same irrationality...different subject....

You must not have heard...Crichton now believes in global warming, but thinks it's caused by aliens.

Edit: He actually doesn't believe in it, but thinks our belief is based on extraterrestrial life.

Your comments do a diservice to Michael Crichton.
In this speech, Crichton mocks the Man-Causes-Global-Warming-Cult using a ridiculous hypothesis that aliens cause global warming. Then he goes through a brief history of science where scientists chose faith over the scientific method and the results were disastrous. He makes the case that the Man-Causes-Global-Warming Cult (MCGWC) is falling into the same trap of past scientists that chose faith over the scientific method..... It is a very intelligent speech.... The title of the speech is good for getting people's attention but unscrupulous people (ie Man-Causes-Global-Warming-Cultists) will falsely claim that Crichton believes aliens cause global warming.... The title of his speech is an insulting (and deserved) in-your-face attack on the MCGW cultists.....
