I thought it was 'you don't talk about fight club'
Is this fold standard for limit? |

Re: i forgot rule #1
I don't remember for sure but I'm pretty sure I did the math like 4 years ago and to play a hand like this for set value alone it's not profitable unless you get the dreamiest of boards and setups.

[/ QUOTE ] To expand on that, putting in 2 more bets with a pocket pair, for set value, was very marginal-barely +EV in normal-aggro game conditions...so 3 bets cold is going to be -EV. |

Re: i forgot rule #1
so schneids since its only me and you in here let me run a hypothetical situation by you
Lets say I play nl50, am a marginal loser, and take no heed to math, odds, or even logic really when I play cards how would I do in a game like limit? |

[/ QUOTE ] Putting in 3 SB with 13SB already in the pot. I think a set is 7.5 to 1 IIRC so you'll need to get 8 more SB in. Maybe this will happen, but I think the main worry, actually, is with all that raising, overpairs are seeing all 5 cards and who knows if your set will even hold. |

Rule #1: DONT FOLD A PAIR IN LIMIT [censored] HOLD THEM [/ QUOTE ] UNLESS YOU ARE AN ADVANCED PLAYER LIKE PHIL LAAK AND PLAYING AGAINST TEH MACHINES. DONT LISTEN TO JENNIFER TILLY PHIL WHAT DOES SHE KNOW ABOUT BIG LAYDOWNS [ QUOTE ] July 24th - 3:38 PM PST Phil +$1290 (488 hands played) Big Hand. Hand 488 sees Laak dealt pocket Kc Kd. Phil raises - Polaris calls. Flop comes Qh 2h 4d. Phil raises again, and Polaris just calls. Ac hits on the turn and Phil pauses. Tilly chimes in from the crowd saying Polaris may know the ace is a scare card. Phil folds his Kings and and his lead is down to $1290. [/ QUOTE ] |
