Default Flopped a Boat... oh no wait, what just happened??

Wow, what a flop. And then THIS happens. My read is a pocket pair because of the early limp, but I could be way off.

Complete or make a real raise preflop. Minraise is horrible. If you complete from SB, you can make a bet of around 300. If you raise pre, it's an easy shove on most flops, since MP1 will have less than a pot sized bet left. As played, lead the flop for 400-500, call a shove.

The miniraise preflop is an absolutely awful play. You are building the pot in the worse position and reducing your set odds. The play is bad in general, but worse in the SB with this hand.

Slow play on the flop in OK, but it may be better to lead or checkraise OOP. Maybe checkraise the tiny bet, since villain has less than a pot sized bet.

Villain has been betting tiny. I would checkraise allin on the turn. There is just too much money in. I don't know if you get a better hand to fold often, but atleast you won't get drawn out on.

i didn't even read the miniraise part. that IS bad. can you explain reasoning? i think a raise to 5bb or so is a good play or a limp is fine. i think the raise is most +ev getting heads up or taking it pre.

You're right, mini-raise is bad. I guess I was just trying to get rid of the BB, but how often will a miniraise accomplish that? Not often, so bad logic on my part.

Also, I guess I'm afraid to raise 4 or 5 BB with a small PP. I probably should have just limped.

I also made the mistake of not paying attention to villain's stack. If I did, I would have check-raised all-in on that flop for sure.

Yes get it in on flop, worry about the crappy turn card/suck out after you get it all in good.
