Re: Across the Universe
They had this in theater previews ~4 weeks ago. I think the trailer couldve been cut much much much better. Its all over the spectrum.

Re: Across the Universe
It looked so-so until the last 20% of the trailer which looked awesome. I'd like to hear some actual Beatles songs, though, instead of nothing but covers.

Re: Across the Universe
The Wikipedia plot summary is:
Liverpudlian dock worker Jude (Jim Sturgess) travels to America in the 1960s to find his estranged father. There he falls in love with sheltered American teenager Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood). When her brother Max (Joe Anderson) is drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, they become involved in peace activism. |

Re: Across the Universe
I would immediately put this in the "meh" pile, but Julie Taymor kicks ass. See Titus if you haven't already*
*helps if you don't hate Shakespeare, but even then it's pretty kickass. |

Re: Across the Universe
This film was originally scheduled to be released Sept 06. It's never a good sign when a movie's release keeps getting pushed back. Apparently, the movie is just pretty much all Beatles songs with a little dialog in between.
If that trailer was the best they could do to promote it doesn't look too good. Plus how much more corny could they get; Jude, Lucy, Max...gee I wonder how they'll use those names? |
