Default It\'s too early for baseball

Normally, I am dying for opening day. But sitting here watching the Sox/Tribe game, I am decidedly unenthused. I'm not sure why. I'm thinking that the last few years of regular season romps for the Cards is a big part of it - why get all worked up when all that matters is August-October? But it might be more than that. This steroid stuff is wearing on me as well. I dunno. Just sayin'.

Me too. For me, I think the issue is that I didn't really follow the WBC from the getgo. Then, it ramped up, I started watching it, then there was a bit of a lull, and now its MLB time.

normally, opening day is very sudden. BAM baseball's here. This year, it hasn't had that effect.

Clark,

I think it may be because you already know the Cards are going to be in the WS? Waiting 7 months can make anyone aloof, eh?

the entire game is a lot less fun to watch than basketball or football IMO.

however, nothing is more exciting than a pujols/ortiz etc. walk-off. it's such an instantaneous explosion.

I can see that, I think that its also because the off season was very underwhelming for the most part. Its also possible that because the NFL's offseason has been very interesting we are finding ourselves limping into the begining of the baseball season

I used to get into opening day a lot more when I lived in a place with winter and actual sports fans.
