I asked this earlier, but has anyone seen anything on the garbled message that was heard by locke on the loudspeaker? I could make out the countdown but not much before that.

Re: Clearest image yet, no translations
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I bet almost anything its going to turn out that Locke is at least somewhat Schizophrenic. Remember the first flashback episode of his from season 1 where he's on the phone and someone is calling him "Colonel?" And "Helen" is a phone sex operator? Maybe a significant portion of his memories are delusions. The reason he is called that is cuz he and his nerdy co-worker are playing a game of WAR/statego/etc or some kind of similar war/battle strategy game. Its just a nickname given to him by the other guy given that they have been playing it during the break everyday. And I'm pretty sure the two Miami Vice looking guys will have something to say about how Locke's legs got all screwed up. Or he committed suicide and failed. The second Locke's father pulled the "Long Con" on Locke in order to get his kindey it was obvious that given the way everyone is connected on the show that he was the real "Sawyer". I also think that Locke may be so curious about where Sawyer came up with that name given he may know that it is a alias his father used to use |

Re: Clearest image yet, no translations
Wild speculation...locke was "faking" the leg thing (psychosomatic?) due to his life falling apart and his "paralysis" became his coping mechanism.
Unfortunately, I really don't have anything to back up this theory other than gut instinct (which is probably wrong...but the wizzeguyzz doing it to him just seems so pathetic/predictable I hope it doesn't turn out that way). J |

Re: Clearest image yet, no translations
I always heard Locke jumped off a building and the suicide attempt failed..thus he believed he had some purpose destiny to serve in his life.
