Default River over-bet. This time for value.

Villain is good TAG. He's running like 20/16/3 and has been playing pretty solid. He's been 3-betting me a decent amount w/ position...but overall nothing too crazy. My image has been getting progressively worse, and he probably has me at like 24/20ish. I've already 4-bet him 2 or 3 times. None have gone to showdown.

Anybody 4-bet/try to get it in here even w/ stacks?

I kind of like the way this was played. Flop is not standard but tricky can be good esp given situation/reads. I also like the pot+ sized bet b/c he's calling that if he's calling 40 or whatever smallish VB you'd make instead cuz your line doesn't scream strength and looks kinda bluffy.

I don't want to get it in PF this deep but I'm not sure if I'd like to 4bet (and then worrying about folding) given that we're OOP but I guess the call is fine.

This hand was played nicely imo. The river overbet is great because he has to feel like this is pretty much the best card for whatever he holds.
He'll pay you off with an A, QQ/KK and possibly JJ, I think he folds TT.

I'm not sure if you could get more value from checking river and letting him valuebet those hands and then valueraise. I think you couldn't but I'm not sure since his stats would indicate that he'd valuebet hands there.

I def like betting river here over trying to induce w/ a c/c. He's prolly on a midpair or a weaker ace and he's not betting those nearly as much as he's calling our somewhat blufflooking lead w/ the same holdings.

hmm weird. this is never a bluff from a tag imo at these limits. i would just bet 57 and hope he calls with AJ.

I like it, although I never do it.

I find that when I take this line (and just bet like 50ish) I always get called down really light. He doesn't drop a lot of the hands he'd call 55 with for 75 just because your line looks so fishy imo

i wouldn't hate a 4-bet get it in even with these stacks. he knows you're 4-betting light and might just push a worse hand. if you're going to 4-bet and just call some 3-bets then it's important to figure out a good range to just call 3-bets. however, i'd rather save that for hands like AA where it makes more sense to slow down, since ull have a made hand on the flop.

as played, your line looks fine. river is bet, comes down to flow.

By checking the flop, I think AJ is like the strongest he ever has here. Most of his range is like TT-KK. I thought about just making a normal value-bet, but decided to get into a leveling war. I mean he knows that I know his flop check is weakish. If I ever were going to bluff here, I'd have to over-bet IMO, since it's so clear to me that he's trying to get to showdown w/ something like TT+/AJ.

in these situations i think the bluffiest line is to instapot the river. bacon is right, no one at these stakes thinks that you can overbet bluff.
