Default Hollywood Park Casino

I am out in Cali for a bit and the closest cardroom I can get to is Hollywood Park. Anyone have any comments about the room? What are their NL Holdem buyins and such and is it busy on Thurs nights? Thanks

Do a search for some of my OPs on it. I def feel you on the distance thing, but if you're planning to do a long session then taking the extra drive to a dif place is probably better

the NL games are as follows:

40 max NL w/ 1/2 blinds
100 max NL w/ 2/3 blinds
200 max NL with 3/5 blinds

then they have a 5/10 game with (I THINK) an uncapped buyin but the min buy is 500. I could be wrong about that. their phone number is 3103302841 if you want to call and find out which games are running.

Here is my dilemma, I have no car, I am working out at UCLA for the summer and found that would be the cheapest cab ride for a cardroom

The 5/10 game in the lower limit section features a fixed buy of $400. In top section the blinds are the same but it's a minimum buy of $500. Both games go one to perhaps three deep (more for the smaller game) most days.

There is a car-sharing service that operates at USC - I bet they have it at UCLA too. Not sure what it is called. You really have to have a car in LA. Or the other alternative would be to find someone else at UCLA with a car that plays poker and go to the cardroom with them. I bet if you throw a rock out a window you'll hit someone that will be up for hitting the tables.

I live in Brentwood which is very close to UCLA. PM me sometime when you're planning on playing, and we'll head to commerce or hustler. Obv the gas is on you.

A lot of UCLA students play at Commerce. According to what I've heard it is easy to find cash games and tournaments on campus.
